My SCJP 6.0 Certification

Look what I got! Finally, after 3 months of review for 2 hours on weekdays and 6 hours on weekends. I am now a SUN CERTIFIED JAVA PROFESSIONAL SE 6.0!

I have read the SCJP 6 Study Guide by Sierra and Bates for 4 times and practice coding daily.

Well, this is my 2nd internationally recognized I.T. professional certification.

What’s next for me?

I’ll try to do Ubuntu Certified Professional (UCP) by the end of the year or by January next year.

Cheers!

My LPIC-1 Certification

Finally, I got my first I.T. certification! It is the LPIC-1 or the Linux Professional Institute Certified Level 1 (jr administrator).

I have been a Linux user for almost two years now. I remember my first week of using Linux. It was Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn. I have searched the Internet on learning materials, books and magazines about Linux. Then I stumbled upon a certification named UCP or Ubuntu Certified Professional. From that moment, I dream about being one. Checking out the information regarding UCP, I found out that before having it, I should pass two exams LPI 101 and 102 to become LPIC-1 and be eligible to take the UCP examination. So I gathered a lot of learning materials particularly tutorials from different sites including the Linux Documentation Project at http://www.tldp.org.

I also read Robert Smith’s LPIC-1 Linux Professional Institute Certification Study Guide (Exams 101 and 102) as my primary reviewer for the exam.
I passed my LPI 101 exam on May 19, 2008 and my LPI 102 exam on January 7, 2009.

I learned about many things about Linux in a vendor neural fashion. I’m now reviewing for my UCP examination.
